Recent Project: 36 EV Chargers at Provost Square
We installed 36 Level 2 Tesla Wall Connectors and all of the distribution behind them in the parking garage of a residential high-rise at Provost Square — feeders, gutters, and branch circuits fed from the building’s existing 4000A and 3000A house switchboards.
The constraint was that the garage never closed. Residents parked there throughout, so the conduit was run overhead and the work staged bay by bay rather than shutting down levels. Thirty-six chargers is a serious load to add to a service already carrying a full tower, and getting it to land on the gear already in the building is where the engineering goes — the wire pulling is the easy half. The job was permitted with the City of Jersey City and closed out with as-builts.

Recent Project: Tenant Fit-Out at 185 Hudson Street
A full tenant fit-out across office floors at 185 Hudson Street, Jersey City: the complete lighting package and lighting controls, new panelboards, branch circuits throughout, core drilling, sub-metering, and common area power.
Two things make a fit-out in a high-rise different from the same square footage at grade. The first is core drilling — every penetration through a structural slab has to be located and scanned before anyone drills, because what is inside that slab is not something you find out the hard way. The second is that you are working in a live building. Material comes up in a shared freight elevator on someone else’s schedule, and the floors below you stay occupied and operating the entire time.
Sub-metering is the part building owners tend to raise late and should raise early. If tenant loads are not separated properly at the panel, the cost of sorting it out afterwards lands on whoever owns the building, not the tenant who signed the lease.
